My Journey into the World of Skincare.

Although my surname Blüh [Bloo] lends itself easily to awkward mispronunciations, I’ve grown to appreciate it more than ever as its meaning; to blossom, flourish and thrive, embodies the heart of our brand. 

It’s through the power of alchemy that nature's lush bounty is harnessed and transformed into liquid gold otherwise known as BLÜH ALCHEMY, ADVANCED BIOACTIVE SOLUTIONS.

 

Where it All Started

My journey into the world of skin care formulation began in 2011 after my daughter was diagnosed with a rare and life-threatening disease called Wegener’s Granulomatosis. The disease in her case was rapid and severe. After coming off life support, her treatment involved rounds of chemotherapy and a cocktail of aggressive drugs that left her skin very dry and sensitive to the touch.

 

Our Botanical Formulas Stemmed From My Deep Connection to Nature

I grew up in a small hill town in Western Massachusetts. My father was an avid naturalist, seasonally planting vibrant gardens overflowing with robust vegetables, healing herbs, and stunning flowers. As a young child, my father instilled in me a deep appreciation for nature and wildlife, he often took me and my siblings on foraging adventures to gather all the wild food and herbs we could find.

Using Healing Herbs to Create Something Simple & Pure 

When my daughter became ill, my instinct was to go back to my roots and begin to craft simple soothing balms from nourishing oils infused with the healing herbs we grew in our garden. I had always been aware of the importance of eating a clean, nutrient-rich diet and had been diligent about feeding her the healthiest choices available. 

What I was less aware of is the plethora of ingredients disguised as safe options found in the body care products we used on a daily basis. The concept of “green washing” was new to me. When I received my daughter’s shocking diagnosis, I quickly learned that autoimmune diseases are on the rise- in many cases very little is known about their cause or how to effectively treat them.

Although the cause of her disease is unknown, we began to learn more about possible triggers and the impact chemicals and environmental toxins can have on the body. I knew that in her fragile state, I had to keep the formulas simple and pure, utilizing the most gentle, healing herbs and nourishing oils to help soothe her tender skin. 

The Skincare Results That Changed Our Lives Forever

Witnessing the transformative power of plants ignited a passion and an unstoppable drive in me to advance my skills as a cosmetic formulator and my understanding of the skin's physiology. 

I worked closely with some of the foremost natural chemists to develop a carefully edited line of skin care products that target the signs of pre-mature aging while protecting against environmental aggressors and oxidative stress. The result is BLÜH ALCHEMY, ADVANCED BIOACTIVE SOLUTIONS, delivering unparalleled results with uncompromising quality.
